Elisabeth "Liz" Catalano
M.A., CDBC, CTDI

Liz Catalano is the Owner, Head Trainer, and Director of Behavior and Training at The Coventry School, with over 25 years of professional experience in dog training, behavior modification, and trainer education. Her work is grounded in scientifically based, positive reinforcement methods and focuses on helping dogs and their people achieve long-term success.

Liz specializes in developing comprehensive training programs and advanced specialty classes, including work with complex behavioral challenges such as dog-to-dog aggression. She has extensive experience mentoring professional trainers in learning theory, ethology, instructional design, classroom management, and effective dog handling.

Committed to continuing education, Liz regularly participates in advanced seminars and operant conditioning workshops. Internationally recognized trainer Bob Bailey mentored her and has co-taught professional seminars on effective coaching and efficient training systems. Liz holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and a Graduate Certificate in the Advanced Psychology of Animal Behavior and Conservation from CUNY Hunter College. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, and the Animal Behavior Society, and serves as an AKC Evaluator. She co-owns The Coventry School with her husband, Vinny Catalano.
